    Receptionists are very important employees in any type of business. They meet and greet clients and center visitors and provide exceptional customer service. You show hospitality to anyone who enters the building or handles phone calls and emails of the company, and most importantly, they handle anything related to customer service and some administrative tasks.     4.Organization - need to get documents and things to be highly organized despite busy days.

    5.Technical skills - complexity of phone systems, email, word processing programs and photocopier needs to be done with speed with the latest technology as a great asset. 

    6.Resistance to Stress - despite the pressure you must remain calm and focused.

    7.Problem-Solving - be able to find a solution and know how to react and decide on what to do.

    8.Empathy - you need to put visitors at ease and must listen to them, be calm, and empathetic, and not deny any problem.

    9.Reliability - phone call needs to be answered and no visitors need to wait at an empty reception desk.

    10.Visitor Management - receptionist needs to keep an eye on who enters the building or check visitors� records. 

    Key Responsibilities of an Australian Receptionist
     
    -They handle incoming calls and direct them when necessary and take messages within established guidelines

    -Answer general inquiries from visitors by phone or by email

    -Book conference rooms for meetings and presentations to ensure that refreshments are available before the meeting

    -Open posts received from the organization mailroom, sort client folders, and disseminate relevant information to staff members

    -Ensure visitors sign in upon arrival in the reception area

    -Carry out clerical tasks

    -Schedule appointments and do follow up

    -Do copying, scanning, and routing of necessary correspondence and documents

    -Maintain an organized filing system either in paper form or electronic databases

    To become a better receptionist, you need to learn all those skills needed so you can be efficient. Train your communication skills, work with professionalism, always take notes so as not to forget things, and work reliably. Mostly, to become a receptionist you have this pleasing personality that comes out when you smile and entertain guests, and answer phone calls promptly and with positivity, and this job is mostly for women. They obtain more patience than males and create a good impression at first sight. It is difficult for a receptionist to work from home as they need to physically visit the office and see customers, however, those receptionists who work from home are well versed in communication through answering phone calls.
